BOARD ELECTIONS

The nine members of the next Equinet Board will be elected by secret ballot for a two-year mandate (October 2015- AGM 2017) by the General Assembly of Equinet Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 9 October 2015 in Brussels.

The full elections procedures and eligibility requirements are detailed and explained in the Equinet Board Elections Guide, along with the list of nominated candidates as listed below.

BOARD MEMBERS’ TASKS

  • Continued and pro-active involvement in the development and implementation of Equinet strategies and activities, overseeing of the Equinet budget and the work of the Secretariat
  • To attend Board meetings. At least three Board meetings take place in Brussels or other European cities each year.
  • To attend and actively participate in Equinet Annual General Meetings (AGM)
  • To actively participate in selected Equinet conferences, seminars, trainings and/or working group(s)
  • To provide feedback on regular requests and consultations circulated by the Chair or Equinet Secretariat between Board meetings throughout the year

Equinet Board Elections 2015 - Call for Candidates

The Chair of the Equinet Executive Board and the Executive Director of the Equinet Secretariat hereby call upon all Equinet member organisations to consider nominating a candidate for the election of the new Executive Board (maximum one per member organisation).

The nine members of the next Equinet Board will be elected by secret ballot for a two-year mandate (October 2015-October 2017) by the General Assembly of Equinet Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 9 October 2015 in Brussels. We thereby invite you to note and save the date to ensure your attendance at this important event gathering all Equality Bodies.

The main responsibilities of Board Members are:

  • Continued and pro-active involvement in the development and implementation of Equinet strategies and activities, overseeing of the Equinet budget and the work of the Secretariat
  • To attend Board meetings. At least three Board meetings take place in Brussels or other European cities each year.
  • To attend and actively participate in Equinet Annual General Meetings (AGM)
  • To actively participate in selected Equinet conferences, seminars, trainings and/or working group(s)
  • To provide feedback on regular requests and consultations circulated by the Chair or Equinet Secretariat between Board meetings throughout the year

Equinet Board Member Candidate Nominations

Formal candidate nominations will be exclusively communicated via the dedicated Candidate Nomination Form (available below). A candidate nomination form will be valid only if it is duly completed, hand-signed by the candidate and accompanied by the compulsory information (CV in English), as explained in the Equinet Board Elections Guide (available below).

The form can be faxed, mailed or emailed to the Equinet Secretariat, to the attention of Anne Gaspard, Executive Director of the Equinet Secretariat (anne.gaspard@equineteurope.org). Nominated candidates must be able to attend the Annual General Meeting of 9 October in Brussels.

The final deadline for submissions is 8 September 2015.

Equinet members are encouraged to nominate candidates with a view to ensuring the diversity and gender balance of the Board.
