Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality - CIG

Overview

The Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality is an official department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and constitutes the Government’s mechanism for the promotion of citizenship and gender equality.

The Commission consists of the President, the Consultative Council, comprising an Interministerial Section, a Section of Non-Governmental Organisations and a Technical and Scientific Advisory Group. It has delegations in Lisbon and Oporto.

The organisation is a predominantly promotion-type and legal support body [1].

High Commission for Migration

Overview

The High Commission for Migration is a public institute under the dependence of the Ministry of Presidency, and has the mission to develop, execute and evaluate integration policies targeting immigrants and to promote the dialogue between different cultures and religions.

The organisation is a predominantly promotion-type and legal support body [1].
