Gender Equality, a French-Norwegian perspective: HALDE to hold a seminar on 19 May 2009

How to achieve equality between women and men: a French-Norwegian exchange and comparison. This is the subject at the heart of a seminar organised by the HALDE (Haute Autorité de Lutte contre les Discriminations et pour l’égalité) in Paris on 19 May 2009.
The Seminar - which will take place at the Economic, Social and Environmental Committee from 9.00 to 18.00 - will face several hot issues such as the participation of women in social and professional responsibilities, the need for quotas, discrimination in relation to maternity and on the ground of gender with regard to career, the pay gap between men and women and gender equality in the 2009 Social Agenda. The languages of the seminar and of the round tables will be French and Norwegian.
