European Women's Lobby conference - 26 June 2009

"No modern european democracy without gender equality". This is the subject to be covered by a conference which will take place in Brussels on 26 June, organised by the European Women's Lobby (EWL).
The event, which is part of the EWL 50/50 campaign, will address the issue of the representation of women in the newly elected European Parliament and will assess the elections' results. The conference panelists will be very prominent women politicians - including Margot Wallström, vice-president of the European Commission, and Diana Wallis, vice-president of the European Parliament - and EWL members promoting  gender equality across Europe throughout the EWL 50/50 campaign.
