An award for companies acknowledging their diversity work
MIA is the Danish acronym for 'Diversity in the Workplace'. Since 2004, the MIA Award celebrates private and public companies which actively promote diversity and equal opportunities regardless of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or ethnicity. The MIA Award is given to both public and private, small, medium sized and large companies. It is a recognition and publicity for their diversity work. Recent winners of the Award include: McDonald's Denmark (2009), The Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) (2007), IBM Denmark (2006). The Award is supported by the European Union and the Ministry of Employment in Denmark.
This year, the MIA Award 2010 ceremony will be held on Thursday 25th March in the Experimentarium, a science exhibition center in Copenhagen. This year's nominees in the category Small and Medium Sized companies: In the category of large public companies: In the category of large private companies:
