AGE Platform Europe will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on 12 May 2011 (Brussels, Belgium).
Since its establishment in 2001 AGE Platform Europe has successfully contributed to policy debate at the European level and helps to raise awareness of the issues that concern Europe’s 150 Million citizens over 50 years old.
AGE, which is today a network of around 150 organisations of and for people over 50, works on the issues of anti-discrimination, employment of older workers and active ageing, social protection, pension reforms, social inclusion, health, research, accessibility of public transport and the built environment, and ICT.
2012 will be the European Year of Active Ageing. In the context of the year, one of the key outputs of the Equinet Policy Formation Working Group will be the creation of a perspective on challenges of securing equality for older people.
