Belgium: Unia wins the e-Gov Award for Innovation

December 19th 2017

Unia has won the Agoria e-Gov Award in the category Innovation with the Handicap module of the eDiv online training course. This course makes companies aware of the anti-discrimination legislation and answers questions about diversity with practical examples. The ceremony took place on 7 December 2017.

Companies that have questions about reasonable adjustments for their employees with disabilities can find answers in the award winning module. The jury praised the accessibility of the online training. Every surfer with a disability can follow the module. ’Both blind, visually impaired or deaf users, as well as people with a physical disability can apply for the digital course,’ says Els Keytsman, director of Unia.

Inspiring example

“Digital accessibility is an important responsibility and must become the norm. Today, many websites of the government or private sector can improve in this area. With this recognition we hope to be able to set a good example and inspire others,” says Keytsman.

Two-time award winner

It is the second time that Unia won a prize this year. In November, Unia won an award for best communication on the theme of handicap at The Extraordinary Film Festival in Namur.
