Luxembourg: 10 Years Equal Treatment Legislation

November 29th 2016

The Centre for Equal Treatment (CET) organised a celebratory seminar to celebrate 10 years of equal treatment legislation in Luxembourg on 28 November 2016.

Equinet was honoured to participate and be invited to contribute to this event.

The seminar included speeches from:

  • Mars DI BARTOLOMEO, President of the Chamber of Deputies
  • Xavier BETTEL, Prime Minister
  • Anne GASPARD, Executive Director of Equinet
  • Mario HUBERTY, President of Centre for Equal Treatment

Anne GASPARD highlighted that the role of equality bodies to promote equality and combat discrimination is more necessary than ever. In order to fulfill this ambition, it is important to support the independence, effectiveness, sufficient powers and adequate resources of equality bodies.

For more information on standards for equality bodies, please check the Equinet working paper on developing standards for equality bodies.

The seminar was moderated by Joëlle GOLINSKI.
