The Maltese National Commission for the Promotion of Equality is issuing a call for speakers for its symposium on good practices in gender mainstreaming in April 2011 in Malta.
The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) is organising a Symposium on Good Practices in Gender Mainstreaming as part of the launch of the project VS/2010/0819 – Gender Mainstreaming–in Practice. The project seeks to strenghten knowledge and understanding of gender mainstreaming, highlight good practices, empower stakeholders to implement gender mainstreaming and create networks of support, thereby enabling its effective implementation.
The Symposium, which will be held in April 2011 in Malta, is aimed at strenghtening a common understanding of gender mainstreaming and its benefits by exposing good practices, thereby indicating not only the method in which such good practices are implemented, but also the benefits reaped. It will be open to public employees and stakeholders to promote a better network between the public administration and stakeholders.
NCPE is issuing a call for speakers for the symposium. The speakers, who will speak for a maximum of 45 minutes each, are to present and analyse good practices of gender mainstreaming which are to be identified by the speaker. Speakers must have a good background in gender issues and gender mainstreaming. Speakers will also be expected to participate in discussions held during the symposium and to address questions put to them on their presentation.
To register interest, please complete and return the form before Tuesday 8th March 2011 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
