Race Convention 2006An international event organised by the UK Commission for Racial Equality
This year the Commission for Racial Equality - established by the Race Relations Act 1976 to lead the fight against discrimination and to promote good race relations - celebrates its 30th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, the CRE is facilitating an international race convention - the first of its kind in Britain. It will be a landmark event with high-profile speakers, up-to-the-minute debate, practical workshops, a host of cultural activities and fantastic networking opportunities.
The convention will provide a forum to debate Britain's progress towards racial equality and what will need to be done next, with leading contributors from Britain, Europe and beyond. It is set to be a landmark event in our progress towards becoming a fair and equal society.
