Seminar on multiple discrimination organised by the Belgian Institute, 24 September 2009

The event ‘Discriminations multiples. Genre, origine, religion: à la croisée des chemins?’ will be held on 24 September in Brussels in the context of the 2009 Federal Initiative on Interculturalism and will focus on multiple discrimination.

Knowledgeable Belgian practitioners, legal experts and social partners will come together to discuss the question of multiple identities and its correlation to discrimination.

During the seminar, an overview on the concept of multiple discrimination and in its treatment in the European anti-discrimination law will be provided. The application of Belgian legislation to fight racial discrimination with the perspective of gender will also be addressed.
A panel of social partners’ representatives will contribute to the debate and propose some practical recommendations.

Please note that French and Dutch will the working languages of the seminar.
