Swedish Equality Ombudsman Decision3 February 2011
Information on the decision of the Swedish Government to replace Katri Linna as Equality Ombudsman.
The Swedish Government has taken the decision to replace Mrs Katri Linna as Equality Ombudsman. Mrs Linna, who is a member of the Equinet Executive Board, will be reassigned within the Swedish Cabinet Office. The Swedish Equality Ombudsman was formed in 2009 when the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman (JämO), the Ombudsman against Ethnic Discrimination (DO), the Disability Ombudsman (HO) and the Ombudsman against Discrimination because of Sexual Orientation (HomO) were consolidated into one comprehensive agency. The Equality Ombudsman works on anti-discrimination on the grounds of sex, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation and age.
